Our Services - Training

Access Audits Australia believes it is critical for all staff to be aware of disability issues in order for them to participate in, and understand changes required to meet the needs of their potential customers.

We provide an extensive range of training and awareness programs to meet the individual access needs of organisations.

Training is provided in the following areas:

Introduction to the Disability Discrimination Act and Access Awareness

This introductory session provides the framework for organisations to respond appropriately to the wide range of access issues and to understand compliance with the requirements of the intent of the Disability Discrimination Act.

Disability Awareness Training

This is a general session designed to raise the overall level of a participant's awareness of physical and environmental issues affecting people with disabilities and is presented by professional trainers who have personal experience of disability issues.

Disability Awareness Training for Technical Staff

This training allows for maximum participation by all involved using a variety of techniques to highlight the practical technical applications of various legislation, building codes and practices. Specific areas of interest are highlighted e.g. understanding disability issues, DDA and relationship to Standards and the BCA. The opportunity for participants to discuss various responsibilities and issues is an important component.

Disability Awareness Training for Customer Service Staff

This training program offers participants ideas and information to use in providing quality customer service to all customers highlighting specific issues for customers with disabilities. It challenges the myths and stereotypes in relation to disability and supports staff in their customer service roles.

Disability Awareness Training Services for Building Industry Professionals

Barriers are often unintentionally incorporated into the design and construction of buildings and exterior spaces, because detailed consideration has not been given to the total access needs of all users, including people with disabilities. Professionals working within the building and development industry face many challenges in addressing access issues. AAA can present seminars to these groups, which provides the basis for understanding the concepts of and highlights the benefits of providing access for all.

Good Access is Good Business

Encouraging improved access to and through shopping precincts by assisting businesses, building owners and traders to appreciate the benefits to be gained by adopting an 'access for all' approach has benefits for all. AAA can present seminars to business, developers, traders and tourism operators to identify the benefits of providing equitable access and highlight why ‘Good Access is Good Business’. Information kits can be developed to respond to your requirements.
